Mission: Three inter-related elements to MSRC's mission:
· to serve the public through public education programs
· to conduct fundamental/applied research in coastal
oceanography and atmospheric sciences
· to provide undergraduate and graduate education in the
above fields.

Target Audience: General public and school groups (for public service programs).

Facility Description: MSRC marine facilities on Stony Brook campus, at Flax Pond Marine Laboratory located on a tidal pond five miles north of the campus, and aboard an educational research vessel.

Facilities for People with Special Needs: No Response

Types of Programs and Resources Offered: Tours of MSRC facilities, fact sheets, newsletter, educational programs for the public, educational programs for school groups, tours, field trips, and a speakers bureau.

Topics Addressed: Marine/estuarine ecology, oceanography (physical, chemical, geological, and biological), aquaculture, marine policy, and atmospheric sciences.
