Message from the Council Chair

Dear Friends of the South Shore Estuary:

I am happy to announce that the Natural Heritage Trust has hired Jeff Fullmer as Director of the Long Island South Shore Estuary Reserve Office.

Until recently, Mr. Fullmer served as State Program Director for Citizens Campaign for the Environment and Chair of the South Shore Estuary Reserve Council’s Citizens Advisory Committee. We are fortunate he is willing to make this significant career change and dedicate his talents and energy to the Reserve. He will bring a wealth of experience, vision and creativity to working with the numerous Reserve partners to implement the Comprehensive Management Plan.

Jeff, with the Department of State’s assistance, will move forward over the coming weeks to set up the Reserve office in Freeport and interview candidates for the Land Use Specialist, Education/Outreach Coordinator and Science Coordinator positions.

Randy A. Daniels, New York State Secretary of State
Chair, South Shore Estuary Reserve Council
